About us

Grassy field with trees and moutains

In Vietnamese, “ở” means to be in, to stay, or to exist within. “Ở Đà Lạt” translates most directly to “in Da Lat” or “being in Da Lat.”

We begin from the quiet question of what it means to be in a place rather than merely pass through it.

Da Lat is often softened into clichés. Travelers, both local and foreign, love it for the mist, flowers, and the promise of escape.

But to be Da Lat is to encounter what’s beyond: routines shaped by unpredictable rain, Vietnamese and expats who visited once and never left, intergenerational homes adjusted for strangers… Here is a city long shaped by the mix of indigenous traditions, French influence, and souls drawn to solitude.

Our stories come from presence. We gather field notes, fragments, voices, and reflections which emerge from staying long enough to see beyond charm into character.

What makes Ở Đà Lạt distinct is our commitment to letting the city reveal itself without polish.

“Ở” is our invitation.
To be here.
Stay with what’s unfinished.
Experience the unfiltered charm of Da Lat as it is.
